With over 18 years of international and national professional experience including legal, judicial, project management, governance, rule of law and justice sector reforms and ADR, Isfandyar Khan heads IAKLegal.
Isfandyar Khan has served as Member (Legal) at The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Environmental Protection Tribunal, Peshawar, Pakistan for 3 years (2021-2024) and rendered various judgments in environmental complaints and appeals.
Isfandyar Khan has supported Coffey International Development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in various foreign aid initiatives pertaining to post-conflict needs assessment and citizens justice and peace.
For over 5 years, Isfandyar was associated with Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) Project of IFC/World Bank Group and was instrumental in supporting development of Karachi Centre for Dispute Resolution and launch of institutionalized mediation practices in Lahore, Punjab province, Pakistan.
Prior to his professional association with IFC/World Bank Group, Isfandyar served as International United Nations Volunteer for Enhancing Access to Justice Through Lao Bar Association Project, a UNDP Project in Vientiane, Lao PDR (2006/07) and Young Professional Officer (Poverty Reduction and Gender) at UNDP Islamabad in Pakistan (2005/06). In field of legal aid and clinical legal education, he has supported initiatives of Aurat Publication and Information Services Foundation (2005), Peshawar and its partners and worked at the Law Firm of Afridi, Shah and Minallah, Peshawar (2003-2005) as an Associate.
Isfandyar Khan has worked with United Nations as an Intern on long term basis (2002), first at United Nations Information Centre, London and later at United Nations Mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sarajevo.
Isfandyar Khan is a CEDR Accredited Mediator and Master Trainer and Member of The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London (MCIArb.). He has attended “Commercial Mediation” trainings at The Academy of Experts, London, U.K, “Training of Trainers on Conflict Resolution & Mediation for Leaders” offered by United States Institute of Peace, Washington, D.C, USA through Sustainable Development Policy Institute, Islamabad, Pakistan.
Isfandyar Khan has represented clients in judicial and quasi-judicial forums in various matters and in field of legal advisory and litigation, Isfandyar Khan has assisted and represented various Commercial Banks and Banks in Microfinance Sector, foreign Examination board, Pakistan Railways, higher education establishments and construction companies.
Isfandyar Khan is Patron Member of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (KPK Chapter), Life Member of Hull University Students Union, Member of The Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London and Member of British Alumni Association, KPK Chapter, Pakistan. He is Alumni of Goodenough College, London. He has served as Provincial Vice-President (KPK), Pakistan Mediators Association and Member, Executive of the same association.
